Marbled pumpkins

Good Morning!
Since we are well into fall and close to Halloween
I have a craft idea for you.
Beautiful marbled pumpkins!

 Pumpkin Marbling Supplies
  • Mini pumpkins – Look for pumpkins that have a stem, it makes it easier to dip them. I found mine at Trader Joe’s. If you can’t find white, just spray paint some orange ones. I like this white flat spray primer.
  • Nail polish – I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Nail Polish. Not all nail polish brands will work. The Sally Hansen brand is known to be one of the best brands when it comes to nail marbling which uses a very similar technique.
  • Water Container – Make sure it’s deep enough to fully submerge a mini pumpkin.
  • Room Temperature Water
  • Toothpicks
  • Q-Tips
  • Gloves (optional) – these are good to use if you can’t find pumpkins with long stems).
Ok now you're ready, here are the Directions!
  1. Fill a container with room temperature water. It’s important the water is room temperature so the polish can spread easily.
  2. Open the polishes that you’ll be using. You need to work fast. I used 3-4 colors on each pumpkin.
  3. Make sure the room you’re working in is well ventilated!!
  4. With the nail polish brush close to the water, shake the brush and let the polish fall into the water. Be sure the brush is close to the water otherwise the polish will sink to the bottom.
  5. Add additional colors and work quickly before the polish can dry.
  6. Holding the pumpkin by the stem, submerge the pumpkin into the water. It’s best to dunk the pumpkin sideways if you can otherwise most of the polish will end up on the bottom of the pumpkin.
  7. Once the pumpkin is covered, remove it from the water. You can wipe away any excess polish that is hanging off the pumpkin with a Q-Tip.
  8. I dried my pumpkins on a piece of foam board I had but you could use wax paper with cardboard underneath. It took about an hour for them to fully dry. The bottom of the pumpkin took the longest.
  9. To clean the water before you marble the next pumpkin, simply take a Q-Tip and move it around the surface of the water to collect any leftover polish.

Happy Fall Crafting!

More Great Musicians!

Good Morning friends!
I hope you had a good weekend.
Friday our group took part preforming at a community Coffee House.
Once again another great evening and again I am awed at the number
of talented musicians we have in our small community.

Now there might be some of you wondering why in my last couple of posts
you only see four of us on stage performing. Yes we are missing our drummer.
Very much missing him!
Dayne hurt his hand at work so won't be able to drum with us for at least six months.

Wife Saver Breakfast

Good evening friends, well since Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it can be a busy time with family and friends I thought I  would share one of my kids favorite breakfast recipes.  I like it because it frees up my time so I'm not in the kitchen all morning.
Now with this recipe you make it the night before, cover with saran wrap and put in the fridge till morning.  It is so easy to make as little or as much as you want.
All depends on the size of the appetites!
Wife Saver Breakfast
So here we go......
In a greased 9x13 pan cover with bread cubes half way up dish. Add a layer of cubed ham, mushrooms, layer of grated
cheddar cheese.
In a blender add 12 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 2 tbsp parsley,
2 tbsp oregano, 1 tsp dry mustard, 1/2 tsp pepper.
Pour evenly over dish then cover with saran wrap put in the fridge and forget about it till morning.
Preheat oven to 350
Now you have a couple of options for a topping you can layer crushed Corn Flakes or a layer of Rice Krispies.
Melt 2 1/2 tbsp margarine, drizzle all over.
Bake 45 min.

And it's done!
If you like sweets like my hubby does then try it with
Maple Syrup, he absolutely loves the sweet with the savory.

On behalf of the Band Imagine we hope everyone has a
wonderful Thanksgiving, blessings to all!
