Well after a long time away I'm back.

It's been a busy last couple of years for us but I think 

thing are finally slowing down a little.

 There have been a couple of changes around the cottage.
Our flowers this year have done really well! 
Although I can't take all the credit my husband loves to be
in the garden so he does most of the heavy lifting.
 

 This year I wanted to cut down on the amount of weeding
we have to do so we took out a lot of flowers to first make 
the gardens more simple then we laid down gardening
fabric finally mulch, mulch and more mulch!
Did I mention how much I hate weeding?
 

 And hubby is not a fan of mowing around every little thing
so we took out grass to make the mowing go quicker 
and smoother. Besides who wants to spend there summer
weeding & mowing, right?
 

Keeping cool under the ferns 
Meet Valour he is my dog guide,
he will be 3 in November.
I have had him since June of  2013

 This side of our yard has a slope and was bush.
So I cleared a path put in some stairs using railway ties
and then rocks for stepping stones. Found this cute well that
someone was happy to get rid of and what was once an eye sore 
is now a place of interest for people. And the nice thing about it is
there is no maintenance.

 We have a fire pit in the gazebo that is so nice to sit 
around and have a drink at night, or a cold one in the
afternoon it's so relaxing.

 Our new son in-law built two pergolas this summer.
Our daughter got married in June and their
reception was held in our back yard and the one thing
they wanted was a light umbrella.
 It looks so beautiful at night, I'll post a night Picture later.

 I saw this cute idea on Pinterest and just had to add them to my garden.

I inherited this chair but.......

 the only thing was it was in rough shape & very dirty!
